Join the fight for a strong Public Health System
DID YOU KNOW?...

There are 1.6 million NYC residents, or 1 in 4 people, under the age of 65 who have no health insurance.

Our public hospitals, long term care facilities, and clinics are the major health care services in the city, along with federally funded Health Centers, that are required to serve anyone, regardless of ability to pay.

Our public health care system has always served low income families, the uninsured, documented and undocumented immigrants, the mentally ill, people with HIV/AIDS and TB, and others with health problems.

Our public health system has a long- standing history of providing high quality care and pioneering improvements in the delivery of health care services.

Public health is the front line of our defense, our safety valve against illness, epidemics and disasters.
BE A PART OF AN
EXCITING CHILD HEALTH PROJECT

In Spring 2007, CPHS organized a group of organizations to plan an exciting year-long project to honor the 100th Anniversary of New York City's Child Health Clinics. This initiative is in progress and the goals are:
To recognize and celebrate the Child Health Clinics as an important model of preventive and primary health care for children and youth
To Ensure children and youth have health insurance and a medical home for primary care
To develop a survey of parents and youth; and a Child/Teen/Family Health Policy Agenda that will address the health care needs of New York City children and reflect the diversity of the city.
